About The Robert Burns Ellisland Trust: The Robert Burns Ellisland Trust is a registered charity dedicated to preserving and sharing the heritage of Ellisland Farm, where Robert Burns lived from 1788-1791 and wrote more than a quarter of his total output including Auld Lang Syne.
About Ellisland: Ellisland is the only house Robert Burns designed and built himself. The Category A listed farmhouse remains the best-preserved of all the poet’s homes, set in a landscape still shaped by Burns’s own hand, with even the field enclosures remaining as he created it.
