Following on from our earlier exciting news regarding grants from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and South of Scotland Enterprise, we are delighted that Museums Galleries Scotland has recently awarded us £60,000 from their Museum Development Fund. This funding will help support our project Saving the Home of Auld Lang Syne. The Museum Development Fund will be used to support an interpretation plan for the site and an experienced curator to work with the design team on the conservation and adaptation of the farmhouse and steading much of which was built by and for Robert Burns. They will also develop our approach to caring for our collection of manuscripts and items belonging to Burns and his family.
