The Autumn events follow on from our successful summer Family Fun Day. 180 local people attended the event, which raised more than £400 for the trust.
On the day we had a large selection of stalls and activities to take part in. This included refreshments, tombola and face painting. There was a performance by Spectrum of traditional folk music which was enjoyed by all.
We are very grateful to the young musicians of Spectrum who entertained us. We are also grateful to LIFT Dumfries who provided the very popular face painting service.
Thank you to everyone who donated prizes, baked cakes, played music and helped in stalls at our family fun day. We even got Rabbie out to enjoy the sunshine!
We also joined in Doors Open Day when dozens of people took advantage of free entry to see the home of Auld Lang Syne. They were generous with their donations and the weekend was financially worthwhile for the trust – but of equal importance was allowing more local people to see the heritage jewel on their doorstep.
At the end of the month, we also welcomed delegates from the Robert Burns’s World Federation. Fifty Burns fans from around the world visited us as part of the conference being held this year in Dumfries.
