On 15th March 2023, Robert Burns Ellisland Museum and Farm will be holding a recruitment event, calling out for new volunteers.
Ellisland is growing and due to that so is the need for volunteers. We are currently looking for people to fill the roles of: gardening, front of house, curatorial and education facilitators.
The responsibilities of different volunteers:
Gardening – maintaining the garden we currently have and helping develop new flower beds or vegetable planters.
Front of House – providing tours to guests throughout the open season, helping at events, taking payments in the shop.
Curatorial – working with Museum Development Officer, Caitlin, to maintain the care and conservation of the collection.
Education Facilitators – supporting school visits and children’s workshops by teaching one of our 4 lessons.
The event will consist of Joan McAlpine speaking on the past and future of Ellisland, a volunteer speaking on their experiences helping at Ellisland, a tour of Ellisland and finally teas and coffees with a mingle with staff and volunteers at the end. We hope to encourage people from all different experiences to come along and hear what Ellisland is about and how the volunteers can help shape that.
Turn up on the day to find out more about the opportunities at Ellisland.
