National Gardens Scheme – The Poets Wild Garden

Sunday 19th May, 2pm to 5pm

Admission £5.00 (incl FoE members), children free. Teas and entertainment.

The Ellisland Wild Garden celebrates the stunning scenery of Nithsdale and the poetry of Robert Burns. Now in its third year, the Wild Garden is the work of four of the Friends of Ellisland volunteers and is bursting with flowers and wildlife. The bluebells will be amongst the dancing campions in the Jewel Garden and Highland Mary’s birk is bursting with primroses, foxgloves and comfrey.

Ellisland Farm is conveniently situated on the road between Robert Burns' birthplace in Alloway and his final resting place at St Michael's Cemetery in Dumfries.

There is so much to see at Ellisland Farm, so please allow at least an hour for a short visit and two to three hours for a full visit. We're a short, 5 mile drive from the centre of nearby Dumfries, just off the A76.
